Lincoln City Watch Committee 15 Oct 1877, minutes at Lincs RO, records a letter
from Inspector Lilburn resigning his office, which he has filled for 37 years.
They granted him a pension of œ1-3-4d per week, being two thirds of his pay.
"Lincolnshire Chronicle" in reporting this adds that he had 5 years as a
supernumeray before being full time, so he was in the police for 42 years.
